Sunday 7th August
Junior race starts at 09:30
Adult race starts at 10:20
Please reach the Event Village at least 20 minutes ahead of schedule so captains can brief teams, distribute race numbers and warm-up.
Parking is easily accessed from the A12 “Dobbies” roundabout, heading towards Woodbridge on the B1079 Grundisburgh Road. Please avoid parking on the street and in residents only parking areas near Farlingaye School.
P1 : Farlingaye School Car Park (IP12 4JX)
Located at the end of Ransom Road, off Hasketon Road. Follow the road into Farlyingaye School where there will be a marshalled concrete car park and potential grass area. There is a 10 minute walk to the Event Village.
P2 : St Mary’s (Buttrums Mill) Car Park (IP12 4JJ)
Located on Burkitt Road directly opposite the entrance for Woodbridge School. Enter through the Buttrums Mill car park to the St Mary’s School field. There is a 5 minute walk to the Event Village.
P3 : Woodbridge School
Parking at the school is not recommended for participants. It is expected to fill up early, and is primarily for use by clubs bringing equipment such as gazebos. Cars parked at the school will not be able to leave while the race is in progress.
The event takes place at Woodbridge School, Burkitt Road, IP12 4JH. The venue entrance (marked with an Orange circle) and Event Village (marked with a Green star) are within the school grounds accessed from Burkitt Road.
Our club officials will setup gazebos and Kesgrave Kruisers flags within the Event Village. Spectators are welcome, but sadly no dogs are allowed. There will be no access to the school changing rooms, so come prepared, or with a plan for changing clothes.
Each runner will have a race number showing the team number and a letter from A to F designating the 6 legs. Organisers are using batons containing timing chips this year, which will be handed out to the A leg runners just before the start.
Team captains need to ensure that their runners are in position at the start/finish holding pen to take over when the previous runner finishes. When the runner on the course enters the final field (to the right) this should indicate to the waiting runner that they should position themselves at the course entry point for the handover.
All laps are 2.5km, apart from lap 1 which is 2.2km. Runners must keep count of their own laps (5km legs = 2 laps, 7.2km leg = 3 laps, 10km legs = 4 laps). There will be a briefing and demo of the handover on race day.
Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org ASAP if you or your juniors are unable to participate. We have minimal reserve options, to allow maximum particpation, so early notification is essential.
There will be several catering options onsite, including Ma Hubbards burger van with veggie option, Mr Whippy ice cream van, Combat Coffee vans and The Juice Works juice van.
There will be a water station on the course with a further supply as athletes finish with cartons of water for environmental reasons.
Suffolk Medical Services will be on site for the duration of both races. Please only participate if you are in good health and have prepared for the event.
