KKSS Week 2 is “Elev-AtoB” and runs from Fri 11th June to Thu 17th June. Adults get 2 miles (3.22 km) and juniors 1 mile (1.61 km).
IMPROVED FOR 2021! The objective this week is to achieve the maximum elevation you can in a route from A-to-B without covering the same ground twice, so get creative with your routes. There are no prizes for speed this week, we just want your cumulative elevation achieved over the distance. To clarify, routes:
- Must travel along established paths or roads; it should be possible to plot the same route using Strava or a similar tool; you can include steps/stairs if they exist on your path/road
- Must not reuse any already visited paths (either up or down), so any hill climbed must take another path down
- Must not zig-zag along the side of a hill or embankment to try and increase elevation; we may request an ‘Elevation Correction’ on Strava, or re-measure the route and update the submitted values, even if this makes the distance short
- Must be continuous; no pausing at the top of the hill and resuming at the bottom – so choose your hills wisely!
Additional details and rules are available on the website.
Please use the form below to submit your results. You can attempt this challenge more than once, but only your first submitted result will count – so don’t submit if you plan to do better. Parents, please submit for your juniors.
Remember, teams score points based on their results average, and for each runner submitting a result, so take part! Results, team rankings and individual league tables are all available at the link below and will update as soon as results are submitted.
