I Run Because…
I run to escape the stresses of everyday life, where I am just me. I enjoy challenging myself, and the sense of achievement you get on completing a race.

When Not Running
I am mainly a taxi service for my daughters, going between dance competitions and basketball matches!

3hrs 53min Manchester Marathon 2021

Favourite Run Related Moment
London Landmarks Half Marathon 2021 – I had not been well leading up to the race and was considering withdrawing, but a couple of fellow Kruisers said they were just going to go round at a very relaxed pace and enjoy the event and convinced me to join them. I have never had so much fun at a race. We laughed, took photos and thoroughly embraced the atmosphere, whilst still completing it in a very respectable time. It really taught me to relax and enjoy running and definitely played a key part in my marathon training. Not every race is about getting a PB.

Favourite Shoe
Nike!!! I currently wear the Pegasus 38s for everyday runs, and have recently started using Alphaflys for races after they were hugely discounted at the end of last year. So far I’ve got 5km and 10km PBs in them, so a justifiable expense!

Favourite Gels
I use the SIS caffeine gels on longer runs. I have a fairly caffeine free diet so when I take these I get an instant hit and feel like superwoman.

Favourite Stretch
The pigeon stretch – great for tight hip flexors.

Best Coaching Advice
Run with a smile on your face – it really does help you to relax and enjoy your run.

Like About Running
Having the freedom to go out when you want and for how long you want, exploring the beautiful countryside.

Hate About Running
Muddy trail runs – I like my trainers to stay nice and clean!!!

Future Goals
My personal goal is to get a Good For Age marathon time, but I love helping other people to achieve their own goals.
